The larger land units of the National Park of Danube-Dráva: Gemenc, Sárköz, Ormánság, bank of the River Dráva and Belső-Somogy. Along the river we can find not only an amazing landscape, a manifold send-wall, but also different greenwoods with rare plants, such as snow-flake, Carex Strigosa, Crategus Nigra, Vitis Silvestris and Myricaria Germanica, which lives only here in the entire country. Where the greenwoods used to be, there are rare species of the marshes, such as Fritillaria Meleagris, Clematis Integrifolia, Iris Sibirica and Carex Divisa.

The fauna of the national park is quite rich. Among the insects, the Platyphylax frauenfeldi must be emphasized, which is the sedge-fly that can only be found in the Dráva in the whole world. The amphibians and the reptilians live here in crowds. The most significant members of the avifauna are the Black Stork, which lives in great numbers on the flood-plains of the lower Danube unique in Europe, the specially protected White-tailed Eagle and the Saker, and also the Little Tern, which settled here again not long ago.

On the Danube and on the Dráva thousands of wild ducks and wild gooses rest during their migration year by year. For the herons, egrets, night herons the ox bows and fens provide excellent vegetative possibilities. The old forests ensure perfect living world conditions for the bats, martens, wild-cats, wild-boars and for the deer's. Among them the populations of the Red Deer of Gemenc and the Red Deer of Karapancsa are world famous due to their trophy quality.
